North Clyde Line Updated (29/02/2024)

12th January 2024 8 By Chris Horsfield

So, here is the updated Suburban Glasgow/Airdrie extension whatever you want to call it.
I felt it was in need of a bit of TLC, in various areas, mainly, the night lighting at stations was pretty woeful to say the least, so that’s how it started.
I then decided to resignal the entire line from scratch, using up-to-date signalling charts and various other sources. Once those tasks were complete, I then sorted station markers, stopping positions, so that the user, (but more importantly, the AI) will stop adjacent to any DOO monitors on platforms, and also in the correct position for any stations that have DOO mirrors. I then added stopping markers for shorter trains (usually 3-cars) at their stop points, which look a lot better in game when AI stop at the correct position.

For scenario creators, you will find the stopping points at the top of the locations list, beginning with a Open-square bracket, and ending with a Closed-square bracket. An example of this is: [GLQ P9 3-car]

So if you want an AI train to stop at that point, don’t select ‘Glasgow QS Low Level – Platform 9’ in the station stop list because it will just stop full length. (Only select that one if you are instructing a 6-car train).

I have also added destination markers for those more advanced scenario creators who know how to add announcements to scenarios, to be used as a trigger point for an announcement to play. These are listed in the locations list with normal brackets, like so: (App_Garrowhill_EB).

There has been various other things happen, new platform textures, some foliage updates, terrain painting, and added clutter, aswell as removing the annoying over the top echo of ambient sounds which were pretty harsh on the lugholes!

I shall let you drive on it and see what you think!

I may do more foliage updates in future, time will tell!

PLEASE NOTE: This is a CLONED version of the Payware of both the Suburban Glasgow Northwest, and the Airdrie Extension. YOU MUST HAVE BOTH THESE ROUTES INSTALLED.

I have also removed the line north of Springburn and into Glasgow Queen Street High Level, and the Anniesland branch, as this is covered in the upcoming NSE Phase 2. (Sorry!)

Any scenarios for either of those routes will NOT work on this cloned updated version.
