The curtain is beginning to draw for the final time for IC125s on the Midland Mainline with current operator East Midlands Railway aiming to retire the age-old Intercity trains come the May timetable change. As part of their last few months in revenue earning service, the ex-LNER sets have been shortened to 2+6 formations and powercars 43102 (302) and 43274 have received a makeover. On a wonderfully clear spring Sunday afternoon, take charge of the latter at Sheffield with train 1C61 – the first trip of the day for this diagram. Year: 2020
