During 2017 and 2018 due to a rolling stock shortage Northern hired DRS to run loco hauled services on the Cumbrian coast route between Lancaster and Carlisle. Initially these were using Class 37s but during 2018 some services used top’n’tailed Class 68s. This scenario depicts one of these loco hauled runs between Preston and Barrow-in-Furness using Class 68s.
