Description
When we think of railways, we often conjure up images of fast express trains speeding from city to city, of packed commuter trains delivering workers to and from the Capital, or of heavy freight consists hauled by powerful locomotives delivering trainloads of cargo from ports to centres of industry.
What we often forget is that railways are so much more than just the trains that run on them, that they comprise also a vast system and infrastructure that allow the trains to run and indeed to keep running – a system that we often overlook and take for granted.
In Train Simulator, we’ve long been able to recreate part of this network with engineering and infrastructure trains, but what about the equipment – the actual machines that maintain the track? Those weird and complicated looking machines that we often see around the network? The Gold Star Trains Ballast Tamper enables an insight into this facet of railway operations.
This scenario pack showcases the Gold Star Trains Ballast Tamper, consisting of seven standard scenarios and adding almost ten hours of driving time to the roster of this truly individual piece of TS content.
Spread over three routes, you’ll be put through your paces in a number of settings, namely transferring the tamper to and from work locations, and carrying out tamping work itself.
All scenarios have been compiled using period timetables and official documentation, hopefully to give you an engaging and immersive experience.
