Hadleigh Salvation Army Colony Railway

Hadleigh Salvation Army Colony Railway

The Hadleigh Salvation Army Colony Railway is an industrial railway which was in the Hadleigh Marshes. Its hard to believe today that once a steam train trundled its way through the marches and over the LTSR mainline. This sparked an interest in me and a desire to recreate it for TS. This route is perfect for shunting with a small steam loco (Peckett 0-4-0 if you want to be realistic!)

– My friend Alfie for keeping me motivated through this mini-project

-The brilliant book ‘Hadleigh Salvation Army Colony Railway’ which documents the railway and the research by Harold William Parr. Well worth a read! Any historical inaccuracies are entirely my own fault.
