91002 Rescue (1989) – 1G68 10:00 Bounds Green – Doncaster West Yard

1st October 2023 12 By Harrebarrevarre

In the summer of 1989, the class 91 had started work on services to Leeds and York, but without Mk4 stock, and the locomotives were still going through different tests.

91002 was heading the 1G68 test working from Bounds Green towards Doncaster. It failed at Newark during testing of its new SEPEX gearbox with carriages and a class 43 working as a DVT.

You will set up 37355 from cold and head out of Doncaster to rescue the failed test train. Couple up and drag the consist from Newark back into Doncaster works where the loco’s gearbox will be reconfigured.

90 minute scenario for the ATS Leeds & York ECML Merge route. Weather: Haze. Feedback is much appreciated. Hope you enjoy! 😊
