It is April 1948, and although the rail system is now under the management of British Railways most locomotives and rolling stock are still in the colours of their former companies. You are at the controls of a newly-built K1 2-6-0, turned out in the early British Railways livery, that has been assigned to work a stopping passenger service from Darlington to Barnard Castle. Enjoy a relatively sedate run through the County Durham countryside, in a world where remarkably little appears to have changed from LNER days.
