Many services to and from London are formed of 8, 10 and 12
carriages, and some service patterns are different to what they are
in the off-peaks. 

All
services are based on the Network Rail 2012 Working Timetable and the
stock formations are taken from the South West Trains 2012 Carriage
Working Notice

Description:

This
morning you are in charge of a 12 car 450 set, starting at Portsmouth
& Southsea Down Carriage Siding you will set up the train using
the Depot Preparation Procedure as laid out in Page 12 of the AP
444-450EP manual, and then you will proceed empty to Havant as 5P18.
Then you will work the 1P18 07.11 from Havant calling at Petersfield,
Haslemere, Witley, Milford, Godalming, Farncombe, Guildford, Woking
and London Waterloo. This is a timetabled scenario

London Waterloo. Your train is formed of 455724+455730

weekdays, the 17.20 from London Waterloo runs to Salisbury and Exeter
St Davids, but with different stock formations, normally it’s a 6 car
set with a solo 159 on to Exeter from Salisbury, on Thursdays’ it’s a
6 car with a 158, 3 cars to Exeter and the 159/158 terminating at
Salisbury, and on Fridays’ it’s the same set as on Thursdays, but
it’s a 6 car set to Exeter. On this clear Thursday evening, you are
in charge of a 6 car 159 set, with 158887 in tow, driving this
service as far as Woking, running non stop
