Class 158 GTI (1997) – 1S56 12:43 Manchester Airport – Edinburgh [UPDATED]

31st August 2023 1 By Harrebarrevarre

In the summer of 1997, Virgin Cross Country’s class 158s proved to be so unreliable that other stock had to be brought in to cover their diagrams. They came up with the idea of using their own spare class 43s with just two coaches to substitute the DMU services out of Manchester Airport.
Today, you’re in charge of 1S56, the afternoon service to Edinburgh from Preston to Carlisle. The increased top speed of this set means you’ll be early into your stops. Enjoy the breaks along the way and the acceleration from your 4500 hp.

95 minute scenario for the WCML over Shap route. Date: 2nd of July, 1997. Weather: Fair Cloud. Feedback is much appreciated. Hope you enjoy! 😊
