19th February 2020Hi, and thank you for downloading this scenario.
To install, simply copy the enclosed ‘Content’ folder to your Railworks folder. This is a ‘Standard’ scenario and is named “[MJC] 1Z51 1535 Penzance – Paddington ‘The Cornubian’”
Summary
A scenario for the Railways of Devon and Cornwall route by High Speed Tracks. 50031 “Hood” pioneered the re-appearance of the class 50 on the main line. On 18th July 1998 she hauled a Past Time Rail excursion from Paddington to Penzance and return. Unlike more recent excursions, this gave the opportunity for a single class 50 to show once again what they were made of over the West of England Main Line. You will be driving the return leg between Liskeard and Exeter.

Scenario run-through
This scenario should last around 95 minutes. On your return run from Penzance, you have just stopped at Liskeard to report something to the signalman. You can proceed as soon as you are ready. You will be calling at Plymouth, and Exeter St.David’s. In these early days of class 50s back on the mainline, there were opportunities for the locos to be seen singly hauling the kind of trains they were built for. This should be a good thrash over the Devon Banks. There is an issue with one signal near Laira depot which will require you to press ‘TAB’ to pass.
I do hope you enjoy this scenario.
What an excellent scenario, really bringing out the best of the AP Class 50 and an opportunity to put it through its real paces over the South Devon Banks, with a trailing load of something like 520 tons. I was just a little anxious as we attacked Hemerdon Bank and the speedo dropped and dropped… Thanks for creating this.
Thank you much for your kind comments Michael. Yes it must have fun to be on this tour reliving the days of 50s on the Jumbo trains in the mid 80s.
