Devon and Cornwall inc Bristol backdated 2000 – 2005
25th July 2024V1.2 09/0824
Here we have an updated and slightly backdated version of the RDC route originally from High Speed Tracks, to reflect the period between the late 2000s – 2005, when HST’s and loco hauled trains were still in charge of the trains to the South West. Including Silk Mill’s level crossing and the single track section between Burngullow and Probus.
I would like to thank Simon for his version’s of the RDC, getting me into Train Simulator, and spurring me on to do this project. Originally intended for myself, I’d now like to share it for other’s to enjoy.

Apologies for the extensive list (I got carried away initially and un-ticking can cause issue’s) There may be something I’ve missed but that should cover most.
You may get milk bottles on the beach at Dawlish its PierreG Beach people, JCB, Conbine harvester. There are also vehicles inc buses and lorrys from PeterKiggins and News
There are some scenario’s included which use mainly AP stock and various reskins including from Major wales, ATS RES pack with branding patch.
It’s been a labour of love and a pain at time’s. But thanks’ to the High Speed Track team for their hardwork, BazzRES47 and Jake Fuller for helping and providing assets and giving me the confidence to put it out there, finally to all the help ATS have given me to help get things right to host the route.
To install extract with 7zip and copy and paste the Content and Asset folder’s into your Railworks/Content/ & Asset folder’s.
28/07/24 Please be aware that this will overwrite your copy of Devon and Cornwall route if installed, back up your scenarios for reusing on the original version before installing.. Sorry still learning..
09/08/24 Backing up and removing the original version is recommended to avoid potential overwriting issues. Quick drives added and some broken track fixed.
Hello, I have a few questions regarding the route if you don’t mind. They are:
1. Will this overwrite Railways of Devon and Cornwall that is used in merged routes, e.g, BHBP V4/Paddington – Paignton 2018/2019.
2. How much of the route has scenery.
3. Which version/versions of North Wales Coastal do you need, as I have:
The original Virgin Trains branded version from Crewe to Llandudno Jn, and the recently released unbranded Avanti from Crewe – Holyhead version.
But not the Virgin Trains branded Crewe – Holyhead version.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hi Matth3w
It will replace the original Devon and Cornwall route, it shouldn’t affect the BHBP version, as it’s a different route number. I’d save a copy of the original version inc scenario’s if you can, and put on it as a new route as opposed to overwriting.
I used the older version of North Wales Coast Crewe – Holyhead, there actually isn’t much used I don’t believe anyway from it.
It has scenery Bristol to burngullow and then from Truro to Penzance, the same as the original pretty much although updated/backdated slightly. Finishing off and cutting down on frame hitting trees is next on the to do list plus some other bits.
Hood this helps.
Dave
Hello! I cant seem to get the Quick Drive to work or other scenarios. Is there a fix to this?? Thanks 🙂
Hi Captain seagull, sorry about the quick drive issue I think there broke as part of original route. I’ll look into it a nd try to sort or remove them. It’s not something I’ve done before 🙁 or if anyone can assist? Apologies
The Standard scenarios should hopefully work as I made them for this version of the route.
Is there any update to the loft issues I have been having
Hi KLScenarios sorry about delay getting back, been on nights, I’ve been looking through today and doing some fixes etc, the wall is from the Falmouth Branch, I’ll add to list also once I get couple of other bits done over the next day or two.
A bit of feedback the crossing at paignton needs sorting as it doesn’t fully close when you go over it departing north so it may need looking at
Hi KLscenarios only just seen this message, the crossing works ok, you just have to wait a little longer before leaving and going over or use the AP signals EP to hold the signal until the barriers are fully lowered. My scenarios use this method.
Hi Captain seagull it’s been a while but I’ve fixed a few other bits in the meantime to, I’ll re upload the newer version later and Quick Drives have been added also
Ah that’s brilliant! I will look forward to installing that update. 🙂
Hi I’ve added some quick drives to route today, so they should work now. Just doing a few other bits and I’ll put an update off the route up soon. Cheers
Just found an issue of missing lofts along the Dawlish Warren to starcross section of the route
Hi what is it wall or ballast lofts? It could be since the track was changed I’ll take a look over the next few days thanks.
It was the wall loft as it is not loading in and I have all the requirements
And Scenery Density is on max as well
Also having loft issues at Kingswear as well with the station platform where they do not load in even on max scenery density.
Hi KLScenarios sorry about delay getting back, been on nights, I’ve been looking through today and doing some fixes etc, the wall does show on my version, you definitely have the blocks an lofts installed correctly and all the bits from the original Devon and Cornwall route? I’ll try to look a bit deeper or perhaps try and change it.
Quick question.. as I dont own the RSC/DTG of China Clay for Expoet, will this route work with the original Creative Rail version of China Clay ?
Hi Mark0468 the route will work, worse case you’ll have a few bridges missing I believe from that route, if it doesn’t but from what I can remember nothing major. But it should be ok
I have done some looking into it this evening and the folder structure is wrong in the download still.
1) The route has the same ID as the original Railways of Devon and Cornwall route so when it is copied into the Content/Routes folder it overwrites the original release from High Speed Tracks.
2) If you have permission to include the assets which are in the download file, the file structure is still wrong. The Assets folder that you have included just drops into the assets folder under Ballast, Bridges, Vegetation. They need to be in the correct sub folder (usually the name of the person / company which created the assets) in the Assets folder which is referenced in the .bin file of the assets for example;
Ballast needs to be in a folder called Gueterbahnhof\BrecklandLine\Scenery\Procedural and then the Ballast folder inside the Procedural folder.
Bridges needs to be in a folder called Gueterbahnhof\BrecklandLine\RailNetwork and then the Bridges folder inside the RailNetwork folder.
Vegetation needs to be in a folder called Gueterbahnhof\BrecklandLine\Scenery and then the Vegetation folder inside the Scenery folder.
Hi The Train Sim Guy thank you for looking into it abit deeper, after initially uploading the route there was an issue with requirements, who would still have the required route assets etc the track all got changed over, then I received confirmation I could use certain assets. But wasn’t sure regarding how it would work without the initial route required. I’m new to the publishing part, apart from building. I’ll give it ago tomorrow and do it how you suggested. Appreciate it and sorry for any issues!
Hi i have changed the Assets stucture now, i have obtained permission for the use on this route. I’ll be honest i wasn’t sure how to add 100%, without the original route no longer available for those who do not have it. Hope i haven’t caused to many probs. Apologies and thank you ..
Would it also be doable to make the routw not overwrite the old RDC so people can use both this and the modern one.
Hi, I’m getting lots of milk bottles over the route where vegetation should be along Exeter TMD. Think its grass, I have reinstalled the assets and the requirements to make sure its not that as far as I’m aware. Also it may be an idea to set it up as a new route rather than overwrite V11 of Devon Cornwall rails as the scenarios I created for the original route seem to now be broken due to the track changes.
Hi you only need the assets from the original Devon rails route. It just needs to be installed or only the assets for it. you don’t need to over write the original route. It is a new stand alone route just with requirements needed.

I can confirm it overwrites the existing route
A bit of feedback would it be possible to remove some of the excess 3D trees which is a bit of a performance hog especially around Bodmin and Penzance
Hi did you manage to get the Assets to copy over ok? Should give you grass line side? If not I’ll take a look later, I’m on nights at the mo. Regarding the trees, my aim is to try and make Bodmin- Par and Penzance end more frame rate friendly.
Regarding the assets folder there is no clear indicator of where it should be placed as there is no file structure just the assets and the 3 folders but with no clear indicator of where they should go

Regarding the Assets folder it does not show where the assets should go as there is no proper file structure for where they should go
Hi, I have changed the upload now to have the correct Content/Routes folders. I have also checked the download myself and once its been unzipped/ extracted it is all there to follow. NOTE May be worth checking your Content part if you tried to install before the change, in case something went where it shouldn’t. Appoligies.
Hi sorry I’ll add the route folder to the content folder and get it re uploaded, in the meantime try just putting the extracted route letters /numbers bit straight into your Steam/steamapps/common/Railworks/Content/Routes folder
File is corrupted when the .zip is extracted and also the file structure is wrong should be a Route file in the Content folder which then houses the route file.
Keep getting corrupt file.when I go to unzip.udining winrar and winzip.but both still same.thx
when downloaded the file says it’s invalid and cannot be extracted
