West Highland Line South & Extension – AP Track Patch v2.0
20th April 2019NOTES
I’ve long felt both these great routes needed a track overhaul but to my knowledge, it hadn’t been done by anyone else. After searching for a patch I thought it was high time I had a go myself. That was v1.0, which looked good but I knew had a couple of issues. Well, my huge thanks to 2 members of the community, namely Jake Fuller (nymr1) who fixed an issue with the bed rumble sound effects, and Steve Green who has kindly retextured the WHLS track embankments to closer match the AP Track EP, we have the finished article – v2.0. I hope you enjoy it…with the AP weather, track & RWEnhancer these 2 older routes have a new lease of life!
EDIT
v1.1 Additional advice and update provided by Jake Fuller (nymr1) – Fixes the track bed rumble sounds on both routes
v2.0 Added Steve Green’s retextured embankments for the West Highland Line South

Will this work on the WHL route merge with Suburban Glasgow? Or would it have to be applied separately?
Track looks stunning on WHL South. Any idea why it’s caused me to have some tunnel interiors missing. When i go into a tunnel, one between Arrocar and Ardlui for example, the tunnel face is there but once inside i can see the sky above me in the tunnel. I reverted the rough back to it’s default track and the tunnel is fine.
Hi,
Thanks for the exelent patch. I do have the same problem for the 2 tunnels on the West Highland Line South part. The tunnels in the Glasgow Suburban and West Highland Extention parts of the line are good, but the 2 tunnels on the West Highland Line South do miss the tunnel interior, like David already mentioned. Is there a way to fix this? Would be very much apreciated!
Kind regards,
Dominic
Ignore my last comment, wrong product. Does this pack change the audio of the route in any way? I installed it without trying the un-affected route, and I noticed the sudden and loud audio changes when going over bridges. Love the way the track looks by the way.
Hey there, only just seen this.
It shouldn’t change the audio, it certainly doesn’t for me. That tends to be a TS issue to be honest and caused by the route itself.
I’ve found a few other things wrong with this patch along with what you have already said. These problems being that you have clearly copied the same track bin and renamed it not realizing that the specific BedRumble sounds and that the name is the same for all track types which, for route builders, is a nightmare as the game will randomize what type of track is layed because everyone has the same name in-game. I have corrected this problem however by putting back the names and bedrumble sounds into the bin files.
Hey nymr1,
Thanks very much. I’m new at this so still finding my feet a bit. I’d like to include your changes in an update if that’s ok, would you mind sharing them with me?
Thanks.
Issue now fixed 🙂
another issue is that it replaces any routes that use WHLE track with ap… so with alot of routes like the NYMR/NNR im making currently it looks stupid due to having concrete sleepers
If I already have the AP weather pack installed prior to installing this file, do I have to do anything for the AP pack to affect the route?
