[mjt] 1D91 17:02 London Euston – Holyhead (Full Journey)
10th June 2024Today you are in charge of 1D91, the 17:02 Avanti West Coast service from London Euston to Holyhead, in a 4-part scenario. You lead this service in the driver’s seat of one of the brand-new Class 805 ‘Evero’ units recently introduced into service just a few days ago, following the introduction of the June timetable changes. Forming a 10-carriage train, you will be hauling 805008, with -010 at the rear. Dividing at Chester, you continue with the front of the train along the North Wales Coast before arriving at Holyhead later in the evening. Ensure you give our passengers a good first impression with these new trains and offer them a pleasant journey throughout! This includes sticking to a maximum speed limit of 110mph due to the 805’s inability to tilt.
Setting: June 2024
Total Duration: 240 mins
Track Covered: London Euston – Holyhead
Traction: 805008 + 805010 (as far as Chester)
HOW TO INSTALL:
1. Downland and extract the provided.zip file, where you will find 4 separate folders corresponding to each part of the scenario (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4)
2. Within these separate folders, navigate to the individual ‘Content’ folders. Drag each content folder 1-by-1 into your railworks directory. The scenario should now be installed!
3. Find each part of the scenario under ‘Standard’ scenarios by typing ‘1D91’ into the search bar, each labelled with the [mjt] prefix. Enjoy!

Things to know:
– Due to the lack of Class 195 and Class 197 in the game, these units are instead represented by the TfW Class 158 and Arriva Northern Class 170. These units have been relabelled accordingly.
– To eliminate the need to TAB red signals, I have added a Calling On marker in front of two problematic signals – (1) As you approach Stafford, and (2) At CE107 as you approach Crewe. You require the AP Signal Enhancement Pack for this to work.
Feedback is much appreciated. Enjoy!
Changelog:
13/06/24 – Deleted the message in Part 4 (Crewe – Holyhead), informing the driver that they shouldn’t stop at Colwyn Bay. Users will now need to call at Colwyn Bay in order to complete the scenario successfully.
Hello Dev,
Could you provide a link to “LNWR 150”? When I enter this, I get 11 pages of info!!!! 😉
I know links can change, but at least while it works, it’s great. If it does not, I can at least ‘see’ the pack info and use it to search.
Thanks for a great scenario 🙂

There you are mate 🙂 Hope you enjoyed!!
Great scenario, keep up the good work. Love all of your full length scenarios
Finally played the final part, a very nice run overall!
Had stability issues in the first 10′ of part 1 too, but saving regularly did the trick!
Is there a reason that one end of the class 805 has no numbers on it?
it was same for both of 5 cars and was same in all 4 parts – maybe something I’ve got wrong on the install or reskin?
Great scenario though. Also had Primrose Hill problem, but didn’t happen when I saved it on second time
In regards to the crash in the tunnel after Camden Jn/Primrose Hill, I looked on TSTools and noticed there was a static FSA or FTA (Don’t fully remember) I assume part of the freight service that goes through the slow line tunnel next to it. Deleting it stopped the crashes.
Just completed Part 1 and great so far. I did experience some of the issues with loading like others but a save at the point of crashing and restarting soon sorted that.
Just one question though? Should the Pendolino’s have the Avanti West Coast branding on though the same as the 805’s I am driving? I ask as for me they don’t and I just wondered if branding showed for anyone else?
I’ve seen this issue quite a lot in other scenarios to be fair. Although a minor issue, my suggestion would just be to reinstall the AP 390 Sound Pack and MJW Revamp Pack and see if that fixes anything
Thanks for coming back on this. I have tried as you suggested and I’m afraid it hasn’t worked. I’ve had a look at some of the other scenarios I have that require the MJW Class 390 pack and the ones that I have are showing the branding. However, I know on some others I have had in the past it hasn’t shown so it tends to be hit and miss.
However, it’s a minor problem and hasn’t detracted from the enjoyment of the scenarios in the pack. All completed successfully.
Yeah I have no idea what the root cause would actually be to be honest. Regardless, great to hear and glad you enjoyed 🙂
Fabulous set of 4 scenarios. Thoroughly enjoyable throughout. Strangely in part 4, at Rhyl received a pop up message saying no need to stop at Colwyn Bay, next stop Llandudno jcn. As CB was listed in the station stops, passing through gave the X, and consequently “Scenario incomplete”. Making the stop at CB and ignoring the pop up message resulted in “Scenario complete”. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much as always Benelena! 🙂 On that note, it was an initial idea I had after I looked at Realtimetrains, but I then decided to change that and have it stop at CB in the end. I must’ve forgotten to get rid of that message! I shall amend this in due course.
Lovely scenarios! Although on the WCML Trent Valley the sky looked like it was night time. Right as I switched to the Missing Link scenario it was day again. I gave the weather ep a reinstall hasn’t worked. Any idea what this could be?
It would be because WCML Trent Valley doesn’t automatically have the AP Weather EP applied to it when you install it. To apply it, you need to navigate to the Time of Day files in the AP assets folder and Copy+Paste/Replace them to the WCML Trent Valley Time of Day folder. Alternatively, you can install this patch here:
https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/ap-sky-weather-patch-wcml-trent-valley-north-east-england/
…and it should then work.
Hope this helps 🙂
Has worked! Thank you very much.
Crashes for me just after leaving Euston.
Try clearing the cache or restarting your game/system, that usually works if you experience crashes.
Also happened to me, if you save and restart from just before the error message it works fine for the rest of the scenario. Great scenario by the way mattyjt02 – thank you.
Happened to me as well just entering Primrose Hill tunnel. Save and resume worked. Don’t try doing anything with the speed set along the notorious stretch at Willesden, otherwise it will crash there. It also froze on me just coming up to the M25 at Kings Langley, and crashed on me coming into Cheddington. And I’ve got a pretty grunty rig. I ran out of time, so will have another go later in the week.
Great idea. Look forward to playing!
