3A34 17+31 Letchworth Garden City – London King’s Cross (2016)
28th October 2020Hi, and thank you for downloading this 60 minute scenario for the East Coast Main Line South route extension from DP Simulation.
To install, simply copy the enclosed ‘Content’ folder to your Railworks folder. This is a ‘Standard’ scenario and is named [MJC] 3A34 17+31 Letchworth Garden City – King’s Cross.
Summary
To maximise capacity during the peak, some units make a dash back to London after their first afternoon departure in order to cover another service. Select driver control of the doors to ensure that unit 317338 is empty. Change your destination to show blank (Code 00000). This unit has just been detached from the 16.32 King’s Cross to Cambridge at Letchworth. You will drive it back to King’s Cross empty in order to strengthen the 18.52 to Cambridge. Once the front portion has departed you will follow it to Baldock where you will change ends. You will then weave your way through the busy peak time traffic, with a short wait for a path at New Barnet. Your GSMR registration codes are 949 at Letchworth, and 956 at Baldock. Year: 2016

I really enjoyed playing this scenario keep up the good work
Re-ran the scenario without any save and resume and completed successfully – subject to having to use the F4 HUD to successfully couple to the other unit in KX as reported by others. Excellent scenario.
Ah that’s great to hear, really appreciate you trying again and letting me know. Thank you!

Matt – you are a master scenario writer and this was well up to your usual standard. In fact combined with the superb AP 317 I was beginning to think this was going to be one of my best drives in TS Classic for many months but then, unfortunately and whilst just approaching Gasworks Tunnel on the run into Kings Cross, ‘Game Over Driver 1Y88 16.02 York Kings Cross left path at longitude 0.12323 latitude 51.53474’ May be just one of those quirky things that happen in TS from time to time – I had saved and resumed approaching New Barnet.
Hi Peter,
Many thanks for your very kind words. I can only think it’s a TS thing as I know that others have been able to drive through to King’s Cross. I’m really sorry that it ended that way, 1Y88 should have got to its destination well before you. Please let me know how you get on with the restart.
Kind regards,
Matt
Nice scenario thank you. Seem unable to couple to Cambridge train at Kings Cross though and I followed the AP manual too. Not sure if I’m missing something?
i have a bug with the 317s not coupling up to each other. i have contacted AP and sent them evidence of this. hopefully they (or Gu) can sort it out soon. for now, just use the HUD or control + C to connect them, then hold the couple button for 5 seconds. i assume this is the same bug you have?
Hello, I saved the scenario at Kings Cross, then resumed and found I could couple the two trains. Strange bug.
