2C66 1939 – Driving Home For Christmas

6th December 2022 3 By Aaron Bennett

Firstly I can assure you Chris Rea is not working for South West Trains! 🙂

In this scenario, you will be taking a semi fast service from Reading to London Waterloo, driving a Class 717. The snow is falling thick and fast and it is causing several problems across the network. From frozen rails to faulty signals, this will not be a easy ride.

Some Signals have already been reported and you will get information on this, once you have booked on. However, the current snow storm is reeking havoc and there are reports that the GMSR Radio System is having intermittent blackouts due to the storm. So if you are unable to contact the Signaller, you have prior authority from Route Control at Waterloo, to pass any faulty signals at caution, doing no more than FIFTEEN MILES A HOUR, for 100 yards beyond the red signal.

Please take extra care when driving and do your upmost, to stick to the timetable as best you can.
