Hi, and thank you for downloading this 55 minute scenario for the Woodhead Electric in BR Blue route.
To install, simply copy the enclosed ‘Content’ folder to your Railworks folder. This is a ‘Standard’ scenario and is named “[MJC] 1Z13 1715 Wadsley Bridge – Liverpool Lime Street ‘Foot-ex’”
Summary
The football special, or ‘Foot-ex’, was a major feature of railway operations under BR. They were also a chance for haulage enthusiasts to bag rare locos for haulage, as long as they could mingle with the crowds. Today a match has been played at Hillsborough football ground in Sheffield. The nearest railhead is the closed Wadsley Bridge station on the soon-to-close Woodhead line. The station is, however, still occasionally used for these workings. Drive this return service as far as Guide Bridge. You have no booked passenger stops. Maximum speed is 90mph. This train is vacuum-braked. The cab should be all set up ready. The police are just making sure everyone is aboard. Year: 1980.

I really enjoyed playing this scenario keep up the good work
Scenario ran faultlessly and an absolutely cracking and atmospheric drive over Woodhead – and just my era too! More like this please……..
Thank you so much Peter, really glad you enjoyed it.
Great scenario, Thank you.
Hi Matt
Just wanted to say what a cracking scenario. Ive never driven this route before & what a great first drive it was.
Cheers
Hi Mick, thank you so much! I’m the same, I bought the route as a requirement for something else and never got around to exploring it.
Hi, Just love the B.R Blue era.
For some reason the scenario starts in the rear cab – not a problem just control + to the Front cab.
interesting description “The cab should be all set up ready” – in the F1 instructions the driver has to set the cab up and follow instructions to change the brake system over.
Nice class 37 thrash though – could do with a few more wagons in the empty yards until Guide Bridge.
Kind Regards
Hi Steve, thanks for the feedback. When you place locos you can only place the driver in the number 1 cab. Most scenarios are therefore driven from that cab and you don’t get to experience the different sounds from the no.2 cab. No.2 end is also where the brake changeover switch is found. The only downside is at the start you need to change cabs, but worth it every so often.
The description needs changing as I had to revise the scenario. Originally I tried to set things up so that the scenario began in the no.2 cab with the vacuum brakes already set up, however although it worked fine for me it didn’t for others.
Took a balance with the yards so as to not over fill them and create a performance risk, but point taken.
Cheers, Matt.
