Background:
With the summer of 2015 well underway the ever popular West Highland Line’s services were running to capacity. The current fleet of 15 RETB fitted Class 156’s (it was slightly more back in 2015 before a handful were transferred to Northern in 2019) were usually found running in either single, double or triple formations.
A triple 156 would usually be formed of two services, a single 156 which would split at Crianlarich and head off onto the branch to Oban with the remaining two 156s heading up the line to Fort William and Mallaig. A single or a double formation would usually be just direct services up the stunning West Highland Line to either Oban or Mallaig without the need to split at Crianlarich.

Scenario:
Today you are driving the final leg of 1Y42 the 0603 service from Mallaig to Glasgow Queen Street. You will take over the service at Helensburgh Upper where you will pick up passengers before heading to Queen Street calling at Dumbarton Central and Dalmuir along the way. Services on the line are all running normally however there will be some scheduled stops at red signals to allow North Clyde Line services through so do watch out for yellows and reds.

This scenario is based in June 2015 the AI in this sceanrio is accurate to the time thanks to the archived timetables on the DPSimulation website, https://www.dpsimulation.org.uk/scotrail-timetables.html the ‘2015- Summer’ pack came in very handy when making this scenario.

The AI in this scenario is also accurate to the time, with each unit being in the correct livery for the time. With 2015 being a transitioning period for the Scotrail fleet many different liveries were worn across the network as they awaited relivery into Saltire. I used the http://www.scot-rail.co.uk/ website for the detailed relivery
dates of the fleet allowing me to match each unit with their correct livery.
