Summary
A scenario for the East Coast Main Line Merge route. Sunday 24th February 2019 saw LNER services running via the Hertford Loop. In addition, hired-in HST set NL65 was pressed into use on a diagram stating in Leeds that would see it head to Edinburgh in the afternoon. You are in charge of this latter service as far as Newcastle. The scenario begins on the approach to Stevenage, after you have negotiated the diversion via the Hertford Loop. Year : 2019

Scenario run-through
This scenario should last around 155 minutes. You have been following a delayed Cambridge service around the Hertford Loop and are now waiting for it to clear the platform at Stevenage. Once you get the signal you may proceed, calling at York, Darlington, and Newcastle where you will be relieved. Set NL65 is running with an LNER power car at the London end at the moment. There are some signalling issues at Peterborough which will see you routed through a platform line. There is also a defective signal between Doncaster and York which has a note included.
