South Western Expressways 1999 / 2000 collection – v2.0

This pack contains seven scenarios for Just Trains’ South Western Expressways route, set during the
Summer 1999 or Summer 2000 timetables. Three of these (2O93, 1V47 and 1C33) have previously been uploaded as individual files, but are included here for convenience.

1a 2O93 16.33 Bristol Temple Meads – Weymouth
On a Thursday in September, you are driving 37414 on the evening peak working from Bristol to Weymouth. The schools are now back, which means that the ‘Sand and Cycle Explorer’ is now running to its low Summer diagram. This sees the stock work Westbury – Weymouth – Bristol – Cardiff – Bristol – Weymouth – Westbury
(except on Fridays, when in the evening it works Cardiff – Manchester Oxford Rd – Crewe – Cardiff).
Year : 1999.

1b 2O93 16.33 Bristol Temple Meads – Weymouth (AP 37)
As above, but utilising loco 37407 “Blackpool Tower” from AP Class 37 pack 1.

2a. 2V89 17.20 Weymouth – Bristol Temple Meads
On a fine Summer evening, drive 37414 hauling the ‘Sand and Cycle Explorer’ between Castle Cary and Bristol. This is the High Summer working for this set. Year : 1999.

2b. 2V89 17.20 Weymouth – Bristol Temple Meads (AP 37)
As above, but utilising loco 37424 from AP Class 37 pack 1.

3. 1V47 07.10 Edinburgh – Plymouth
Drive Virgin XC 43155 and 43102 on a service which is being diverted via Westbury due to an incident at Bridgwater. Year : 2000.

4. 1O96 10.33 Bristol Temple Meads – Brighton
During the Summer timetable, the 10.33 Bristol to Brighton and 15.00 return services were booked for a class 150 unit, between working a service from Southampton and later running to Warminster. Work the outward leg of the Brighton service as far as Westbury with unit 150234. Year : 1999.

5. 1C33 10.30 London Paddington – Weston-super-Mare (diverted)
Drive VP185-engined 43175 and Valenta 43017 on a diverted Sunday morning Paddington to Weston-super-Mare service to its destination. Year : 2000.

6. 1A46 08.22 Penzance – London Paddington
On a Summer Friday work the 08.22 Penzance – London Paddington forward from Exeter. When booking-on, you have been advised that at Pewsey, an instructor driver and a trainee will be taking over and you can travel in the train to Paddington. Today you have VP185-engined 43177 and Valenta 43018. Year : 1999.

7. 1C40 13.05 London Paddington – Penzance
On a Summer Friday you are in charge of the 13.05 Paddington to Penzance as far as Exeter. This service is booked to run non-stop between Reading and Taunton, but you’ve been brought to a stand on a red signal at Pewsey. Year : 1999.
