During the time GBRf operated the contract for Mail by Rail, the Class 325s became increasingly more unreliable, particularly when working in multiple. To cover for this GBRf hired in various AC electric locomotives and based them at Willesden, Warrington and Glasgow to drag any failed units. 86101 has been stationed at Warrington for over a week now and this is its first outing dragging a set of three Class 325s over Shap and up to Scotland.
You’re in charge of this service between Preston and Carlisle. Keep a good eye on the signals, gradients, neutral sections and maybe even a TSR as you head north. Good luck!
