Edinburgh/Glasgow BR Blue Class 27 Push Pull Express Services

1. Scenario title – [csw] Glasgow to Edinburgh CL27/27
13:00 1R38 Class 27 push-pull express from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley calling at Falkirk High and Haymarket during spring 1977.
2. Scenario title – [csw] Edinburgh to Glasgow CL27/27
17:30 1R79 Class 27 push-pull express service from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow Queen Street calling at Haymarket and Falkirk High during summer 1977.
Medium difficulty standard scenarios for the DTG Edinburgh to Glasgow route.
Duration for each scenario is approximately 50 minutes.
Based on the actual British Rail Class 27 push-pull express service during the 1970’s.
All Class 27 locomotives represented in the two scenarios are numbered accurately with their correct corresponding depot badges (Eastfield or Haymarket).
The half-hourly services were run by five train sets made up of 6x Mk2a/b coaches (1x BSO, 1x FK, 4x TSO in that order) with a Class 27 loco at each end.

Hi JL. Thanks for pointing that out. I somehow thought that the line from Glasgow through Bathgate to Edinburgh was part (and an extension) of the WCML north electrification in 1974. On investigation I was completely wrong. I mistakenly relied on what I thought was right and should have researched that aspect before publishing the scenarios. I want my scenarios to be historically correct as far as possible, so I will update the scenarios tonight and re-upload to this website. Thanks again for your feedback.
I really much enjoyed these two scenarios, however, there wouldn’t be electric trains present on the line in 1977 which is a bit unrealistic since the lines on this route weren’t electrified until the 1990s. Overall I really enjoyed these.
