Briefing:

Today you are in charge of a Winter’s evening express service between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley. The snow is heavy and the rails are slippery so your driving skills will be put to the test.
• Please note – Due to the weather conditions, you will experience a lot of wheelslip. You will probably not be able to reach line speed leaving Queen Street, and you will need to be careful to avoid wheelslip should you wish to avoid rolling backwards down the gradient. It is possible to get to the top, however it will require clever use of the throttle.
