20th August 2024Description
Take over a Great Malvern to London Paddington service between Oxford and London Paddington on 7th August 2024. All timings from RTT on the day. Please note due to the lack of appropriate Crossrail stock, Class 315’s have been substituted in, in their TFL livery. Due to limitations of the simulator I have only been able to add in static consists in yards/sidings as far as Reading Traincare Depot, even with the rest of the scenario not having populated Yards/Sidings, it still has 76 consists total, so plenty going on! Remember to change to overhead electrification at Didcot!

Known Issues
- As stated, crossrail stock for present day is not available so I used Class 315’s in TFL livery as a substitute, they look very nice in my opinion.
- As stated, I got up to 76 total consists and the scenario became unstable to load or edit, so the last known stable version was used, which was fully static stocked up as far as Reading Depot. Dut to simulator limitations after this point the only static is in Paddington.
- Due to the route using the JT signals I am unable to override and control signals. There was no signals stuck red in my testing so should not be any for you, but random bi-di signals being cleared including shunt signals I cannot control, these may change aspect as a train approaching opposite direction.
As always enjoy and I will keep an eye out for anyone having issues and endevour to fix them. If anyone finds the scenario is unstable for them, I do have backups with less static etc. so can sort something out.
can’t finish scenario in platform 9 at Paddington?
Shouldn’t be any reason why not. Are you running the latest Western Mainlines and WMEP? It has been tested and completed by myself and two others so I am confused. What is the exact issue, is it stuck waiting for a red or you make it into the platform but scenario won’t end? Thanks 🙂
Hi Kieran, experienced a crash about 20 miles from Reading (not sure exactly where).

Hmm, not sure what in the world would cause that, I’ve not had that myself and had two others test it. I’ll ask about. In the meantime, not sure if it would be worth a reinstall of Western Mainlines and then the WMEP to see if that at all helps, possibly a route install issue is my best guess at the moment. Just to add, I’ve had a look at those coordintes, 51.47503, -0.42113 is a set of points that only the player train traverses at any point. It is a set of points directly behind 1Y57 which is the train you follow from that point all the way to Paddington. It must have been your train that derailed and I’ve got no idea why. Did you make it to just before Hayes and Harlington before this occured? Bit at a loss for that one at the moment as only the player train should go through that set of points.
