GNER Doncaster driver’s duty, Summer Saturday 1998

A pair of scenarios for the ECML Merge route, intended to represent a typical duty for a Doncaster-based GNER driver in 1998.

1S27 12.30 London King’s Cross – Edinburgh :
You have booked on at Doncaster and will relieve a semi-fast service from London to Edinburgh and drive it to its destination. You are booked to call at York, Northallerton, Darlington, Durham, Newcastle and Edinburgh Waverley.

1E20 18.00 Glasgow Central – London King’s Cross :
Drive the last southbound GNER departure of the day from Edinburgh. As it’s the last train of the day it calls at Dunbar, Berwick, Alnmouth, Morpeth, Newcastle, Durham, Darlington, Northallerton, York and Doncaster. On weekdays this train runs through to London, but on Saturdays it reverses at Doncaster and continues to Leeds.
