
ATS Class 700/717 Patch
30th January 2022This patch makes the following changes to the DTG Class 700:
Class 717 (new v1.4):
– Added Class 717 consist with new external cab front, courtesy of Michael Dono
Sounds:
– Replaced cab, horn and run sounds with those from the AP 450
– Replaced DC sounds using AP 450 sound set, with custom mix for 30mph pitch change
– Replaced AC sounds with custom sound set
– Replaced door open / close sounds with custom
– Replaced air-con sound in cab with custom
– Added idle hum sounds for both AC and DC modes, with separate interior and exterior sounds
Functionality:
– Added neutral section functionality
– Added door and reverser interlock for power/brake
– Added working DSD that applies brake if pedal not pressed within a few seconds of it sounding
– Increased acceleration power on AC mode by 25%, to roughly match its real acceleration
– Increased maximum speed so 100mph is actually achievable
– Increased dynamic brake force
– Added cab setup ‘TPWS & AWS Operational’
– Added DRA reset reminder (& set DRA on by default)
– Remapped DSD pedal from the ‘Q’ key to ‘E’
– Headlights default state is now tail rather than off
Visuals:
– Added new destination textures – these are listed in the destinations file
– Amended headlight textures
– Added rust on wheel rims
Fixes:
– Fixed motor sounds playing when power is not applied on DC mode
– Fixed motor sounds not playing from intermediate motor cars
– Fixed DSD being cancelled by AWS button instead of DSD pedal
– Fixed AI trains not raising pantograph on AC (v1.1)
– Fixed AI trains not turning on headlights (v1.1)
– Probably other stuff I’ve already forgotten
– Fixed DRA reset sound sometimes not playing (v1.2)

why dose not the DC sound work for me?
how do u install the 717? it says i have missing assets for the 700?
will this get a class 707 varient?

Awesome work with the patch makes the train driveable, just 2 things i noticed is the DRA voice about restting the DRA does not always sound when its reset and also after passing a neutral section i lost some audio that never came back after passing the neutral section.
This is brilliant work, but is anyone else experiencing some sounds not functioning, like reverser and PBC notch? dug into the proxy files and it should be working, along with some other redundant sounds that are not in function.

I had been working on my own patch although not nearly as comprehensive as this one, I was focusing more on getting the numbering to work reasonably accurately as out of the box this was all over the place!
I had separated out all the different number lists for each individual type of carriage (401xxx, 402xxx etc etc all the way to 412xxx, and corrected a few errors amongst them) and created separate bin files too so I now have 2x PTSO, MSO 1 (without toilet), MSO 2 (with toilet, not required for 8 car), TSO (again not required for 8 car) and finally the pair of TSOW’s at the centre of each train (1 with accessible toilet and 1 without).
As such I had a unit number with coaches 01-12(01-03,06,07,10-12 for 8 car) in the correct order, sadly writing a script to get all those coaches to be from the same unit was a little beyond my capabilities. My patch didn’t make it to publication (I guess the mod’s on this site knew this was coming so fair enough!)
Since the release of this patch I have redone all of the above to work with this patch and would be happy to my work to be incorporated if there is interest.

Can one tell me what “Added neutral section functionality” means?
Essentially, Neutral sections are short sections of overhead lines that aren’t powered. So when a train goes through that section, it is briefly unpowered.
