Lichfield diversion (2001) – 1V14 12:42 Nottingham – Gloucester

27th October 2023 3 By Harrebarrevarre

On this dull summer Sunday in 2001, engineering work is underway at Water Orton Junction outside of Birmingham which means traffic from Derby is diverted to the Cross City line via Lichfield instead of via Tamworth. This includes Virgin Cross Country services, freight and Central Trains services along the cross country route.

Today, you will drive 158856 on the diverted Central Trains 12:42 Nottingham to Gloucester service from Lichfield Trent Valley south along the Cross City line and on towards Worcester. Traffic is heavy so expect adverse signals. You will call at New Street and University along the way.

60 minute scenario for the DTG Cross City route. Weather: Overcast/Rain. Feedback is much appreciated. Hope you enjoy! 😊
