SS 1S71 The Cornish Scot northbound (Part 1)
29th January 2023Introduction
Thank you for downloading this scenario, I hope that you enjoy it and find it fulfilling. All services are taken from the correct working timetables of the period. At times you will find the timings quite slack to take into consideration built in recovery times, other times you really be up against it
Requirements
This scenario works best with the 64-bit version of Train Simulator (32-bit is untested). As well as needing the West Coast Midlands and Northwest route (see the following link – West Coast Mainline Midlands and Northwest (aka – ‘Missing Link’) – Alan Thomson Simulation) you will also need the following DLC:

Hi Simon, Not at all familiar I’m afraid but happy to give it a try if you can provide instruction on how to make the change.
One thing I can say is if it involves going in to the build section within the simulator, navigating to the scenario and selecting edit when I did that earlier the simulator would bomb out and I had to restart it. It even did this on the lowest of settings.
Anyhow, if it is done that or any other way happy to give it a try.
Cheers
Mark
Hmm getting into the scenario editor is the only way to change it really. Ok one question, do you have ALL of the requirements for the scenario to run in the first instance? If you do and you try the editor again please let me know the outcome? If you do get in though you need to do the following
1. When it loads in on the very right side of the screen you are presented with 2 tabs. Choose the top tab and you are presented with the scenario credentials. At the bottom of this tab there is a tick box next to an icon which is marked “30”. Untick this box and then push the “play” button. This will prompt you to save the change scenario and exit.
2. The scenario will then load which is fine but DO NOT play the scenario at this point but EXIT out in the usual way
3. Fire up the scenario again and play as normal. Please note now though that the HST is not set up so you will need to set the cab etc before you move off.
I hope this helps but please do not hesitate to come back for more info if you need it
Good luck
Simon
Hi Simon, Thanks very much for your help with this. Initially I didn’t have all of the requirements for the scenario but downloaded the items I didn’t have before trying to play it. Prior to me deleting the engine blocker at New Street, I was getting some errors but these were all related to the route. You probably know the ones I mean. However, having deleted the blocker these errors no longer appear.
Weirdly this morning my computer seems to have behaved itself and allowed me in to the scenario editor. I have followed your instructions and the scenario loads and the route is set correctly towards Wolverhampton. The fact I have had to set up the cab up in the HST is not a problem to me. That process is really straightforward anyway.
I am going to drive this part of the scenario through to Preston now. 🙂
Really good news Mark. As it is when I get time I will redo the start of this scenario and release it as a fix but in the meantime I hope that you enjoy your run to Preston.
Thanks Simon. It was a great drive. Keep up the good work.
where is part 2
For some reason the file corrupted on upload so I am having to write the scenario again from scratch. If all goes well I should have it done this weekend and will release it accordingly.
cant wait, cheers
An excellent scenario, Thank you. Must admit on my machine I kept getting the dreaded OOM, I tried deleting a couple of Al consists, and then the scenario ran perfectly.
Yeah there is quite a lot of ai on there but I feel worth it for the maximum realism. Anyway I´m glad you were able to get it to run and then enjoy it. Thank you for letting me know.
Sorry Simon this scenario hasn’t worked for me, I get the green to go at Birmingham once the passengers are loaded but get routed down the line to the Gloucester Portal, following the Blocker not the line to Wolverhampton.
Hello Caragie-C. Sorry to hear you´re having an issue. No other reported problem from anybody else. Only thing I can suggest is that you go into the editor and remove the blocker engine at New Street. All is does is keep the signal red so it´s not essential to the scenario to run. If you need help on how to do this just let me know
Kind regards
Simon
I to am having the same issue as above with the scenario. If you can provide any guidance on removing the blocker engine at New Street I will give that a try and see if it works. Many thanks.
As an update to this, I have managed to remove the blocker engine at New Street using TS-Tools from ATS. However, when loading the scenario now whilst the blocker engine has now gone, the points are not set correctly and therefore the signal does not clear to allow me to proceed towards Wolverhampton. Any ideas on anything else I can try? Many thanks.
Hi Mark. How familiar are you with the scenario editor? It might be that we need to remove the forced start in order to get you moving in the right direction as this might be playing it´s part in the points not setting themselves correctly. Let me know
Cheers
Simon
I have the same issue, get routed down the line to the Gloucester Portal, and no way to change the points to proceed to Wolverhampton.
