FEATURES:

 

There are 6 scenarios, packed full of A.I. traffic and designed to represent some of the situations encountered by real-life drivers.

INSTALLATION:

Once you have downloaded the .zip file, extract the contents to a convenient place. Copy the enclosed ‘Content’ folder, and paste it into your RailWorks folder – Generally found here, unless installed on a different drive:

C:Program Files (x86) SteamsteamappscommonRailWorks

 

In the simulator all scenarios will be found in the ‘Standard’ scenario menu, and are prefixed:

 SCENARIO DETAILS:

 

1C08 05.20 Derby to London St. Pancras

Traction: 222015 + 222009

Duration: 50 minutes

Route covered: Bedford – St. Pancras

 

On a crisp December Saturday morning drive the last leg of this early southbound working that conveys two units to London. Joining the run at Bedford, you will be calling at Luton, and London St. Pancras. On arrival, these units will divide to form the 08.01 to Corby, and the 08.26 to Sheffield.

 

1V83 06.14 Bedford to Sutton (Surrey)

Duration: 55 minutes

Route covered: Bedford – St. Pancras Low Level

 

On a bitterly cold November morning drive this limited stop peak service from Bedford that runs on the Fast lines all the way to West Hampstead. Join your train at Bedford. Release the doors and set yourself up for departure. Use code 496 for the GSM-r. Please set the destination blind to show ‘Sutton via Wimbledon’. Once underway you will be calling at Flitwick, Luton, Harpenden, St. Albans City, and St. Pancras International Low Level. These units have been berthed at Bedford overnight and the shed driver has prepared them and brought them to the station.

 

1W94 16.02 Bedford to Brighton

Duration: 55 Minutes

Route covered: St. Pancras Low Level – Bedford

 

On a clear September evening drive a peak-time Thameslink service between the capital and Bedford. Joining the run at St. Pancras Low Level, please release your doors and get set-up for departure. This train offers one of the fastest journey times to Bedford for a Thameslink service, and calls only at St. Albans City, Harpenden, Luton, Flitwick, and Bedford.

 

5H95 16+20 Cauldwell Depot to Luton empty stock & 2V95 16.44 Luton to Sutton (Surrey)

Duration: 80 minutes

Route covered: Cauldwell Depot (Bedford) – Cricklewood

 

Units 319005 and 006 are the first of their type to receive PRM (Persons of Reduced Mobility) modifications. As with the first of anything there have been some teething problems and they were taken out of traffic this morning with a door fault. The depot staff at Cauldwell have been on the case and have just released them back for service, only just in time to meet their departure time. Prepare the units from cold, then run empty to Luton to pick-up service. There is a 15mph emergency speed restriction over a defective crossing at Harpenden Junction. Your initial GSM-r registration code for 5H95 is 488, and your destination code is 0117. At Luton you will need to re-register on the GSM-r as 2V95. Please be alert for any problems arising.

6M39 21.42 Moreton-on-Lugg to Radlett Redland Roadstone Sidings

Route covered: Bedford – Radlett Redland Roadstone Sidings

 

On a cold and wet December morning, drive the final leg of this overnight service from Herefordshire to its destination at the Redland Roadstone terminal in Radlett. This train is formed of former National Power coal hoppers, which have now been adapted for carrying stone and re-categorised as TOPS code HKA. Having relieved your colleague and joined the train at Bedford, set-up your cab and prepare to get underway once you get the signal. You are booked to follow the 09.24 service from Bedford to Three Bridges. Your maximum speed is 60mph. There is 20mph temporary speed restriction for freight in place south of Harlington station.

6M92 12.42 West Thurrock to Earles Sidings

Route covered: Carlton Road Jn (near Kentish Town) – Bedford

 

On a chilly November afternoon you are in charge of this Freightliner HeavyHaul service returning empty JPA cement wagons to Derbyshire. For logistical reasons, this scenario begins with your train already on the move at slow speed. You have just joined the Midland Main Line at Carlton Road Junction, just north of Kentish Town. You will be driving as far as Bedford where you are booked to be relieved. Maximum speed is 60mph.
