Description
The Norwich to Great Yarmouth via Reedham line was the first railway constructed in Norfolk, opening in 1844. The Lowestoft arm came along a few years later and eventually the alternative line via Acle was added, forming a network that is familiar to us in modern times as the ‘Wherry Lines’.
The network has always been an important asset to the area it serves, from the days gone by of serving local agriculture and docks, to bringing hoards of holidaymakers to and from the coast during the summer months, a role it still performs to a lesser extent today.
It’s continued importance was recognised in recent years, with resignalling taking place 2018-2019 with some limited track remodelling also, bringing the Wherry bang up to date. Rolling stock was also given an upgrade, with brand new Class 755 bi-mode multiple units taking over operation of all services between Norwich and Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft.
In Train Simulator Classic, the original Armstrong Powerhouse ‘Wherry Lines’ route has since day one been a popular ‘must-have’ for fans of TSC. ATS have built upon this with the Wherry Lines Modern route and the Class 755 BMU, bringing the network well and truly into the 21st century.
This scenario pack, set during present times, consists of FIFTEEN standard scenarios, adding over THIRTEEN hours of driving time of the Class 755 over the ATS Wherry Lines Modern route.
All scenarios have been compiled using real-life timetables and detailed research, hopefully to provide an engaging and immersive experience.
