New Simplified Installers Are Here!
29th December 2024Today, we are excited to announce the launch of our new simplified installers, marking a move away from the Launcher. These new installers function similarly to our older installers, as well as the JT and AP installers.
As part of this transition, we are reverting to not including an uninstall function, meaning uninstallation will need to be performed manually.
To download the latest installers, please visit: https://alanthomsonsim.com/my-account/downloads/.
You will need to add the subware items to your basket, as we have transitioned them to a new system. These items can be accessed via links on the homepage of the website or through the dropdown menu.
We are currently in the process of updating the latest installer version numbers and changelogs on https://www.alanthomsonsim.com/changelog and aim to have this completed by the end of the week.
Launcher support will officially end today, and all products have been transitioned to individual installers.
If you experience any issues with the installers, please submit a support ticket.
Below is a video showcasing the new installers in action.
Can we have some clarity on how to download this new installer please? I keep going round in circles with this latest installer it is “not” in the downloads section of my account.
It doesn’t matter I’ve sussed it, took awhile! Doh!!
The “simplified” installer does “not” appear in my accounts download section as I’ve been instructed to do?
I am getting the same error on both the GEMMA installer and the Class 700 announcement installer;

I have raised a support ticket
where do i find how to download the installer . I have followed the instructions on screen but there is nothing there to download.
If you “read” this page, you’ll see a link above to the final build of the “Launcher”. If you “read” that page – and *this* page, you’ll know that the launcher is now deprecated, so why do you need the latest version?
Still – you can click the link below, which will take you to the download for v2.2.2 (even though the filename implies that it’s v1.5.6 – but that’s just ATS laziness/sloppiness)

(assuming you actually “read” this comment ….)
where can i download if from
when I download any of the installers Norton comes up with it being infected with this Win64:PUP-gen [PUP]?
Norton is useless. It does virtually no analysis, so will report many things as PUP (potentially unwanted program) simply because it doesn’t know what it is. Do yourself a favour and uninstall it – your PC will run a lot faster, you’ll get a lot less false-positives, and if you’re daft enough to be paying for it on a subscription basis – you’ll save a few quid as well.
TLDR : Ignore the warning. ATS software may be full of bugs, but at least they’re malware/virus-free.
Thank you for providing this method I have been away from train sim scene for a while and this looks like a very simple process. Well done to all those involved!
The East Coast Main Line Merge installer didn’t install properly, for some reason when I tried using quick drive / a random scenario the game crashes and gives “Run out of Memory” prompt.
Btw I am running the game with 64-bit & a system that contains 32GB of RAM
Hello There
Out of Memory can be for many of reasons not just memory usage. Please can you reinstall the route along woth requirements then try again. If any further issues please pop in a support ticket as it’s most efficient way of us helping you.
For some reaosn I cannot make a ticket:
Anyway the reinstallation does not work, I for example will go to scenarios, pick a train that uses the East Coast Main Line merge route and when it loads there is nothing on world, it is just a flat world with trains floating, there are no tracks or buildings. Absolutely nothing!
However when I use Quick Drive the game just simply crashes and displays a Out of Memory prompt.
That’s how I can basically describe it.
