XCRoute Birmingham to Bristol
25th January 2019The Cross Country route is a long distance railway in the UK which runs from Cornwall to Scotland via Bristol, Birmingham, Derby, Sheffield and the north east. It features some of the longest passenger journeys by train such as Aberdeen to Penzance.
XCRoute depicts part of this route. Recreated is all of the following;
– A 90 mile section of the Cross Country route between Bristol Temple Meads and Birmingham New Street
– The 45 mile Gloucester to Newport line along the west side of the river Severn. An important link between the West Midlands and South Wales.
– Also included is the 38 miles between Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff Central which forms the ‘South Wales Coastal’ route on DTG which this route is based.
Requirements
You MUST have ALL of the below for the route and scenery to work fully and correctly.
Items in RED are mandatory and the route will not work without them. Everything else is not essential but is used for scenery.

Hi,
I hope you don’t mind me getting in touch.
I’m currently using XC Route Birmingham to Bristol v1.2.0 (ATS release), and I’ve come across what appears to be a broken section of track when travelling northbound from Gloucester towards Cheltenham Spa.
I’ve driven several other parts of the route previously without any issues, but this is the first time I’ve driven this particular section. At this location the track appears to be broken, and attempting to drive over it results in an immediate derailment, so it isn’t possible to continue.
To try and resolve the issue, I’ve already:
Confirmed I’m using v1.2.0, which I believe is the latest public release.
Verified that I have all of the required route dependencies installed.
Run TS Tools to check for missing assets or dependencies, but nothing obvious is being reported.
Completely reinstalled the route, but unfortunately the issue still persists.
Successfully driven other areas of the route without any problems.
I also visited xcroute.com and found the “Gloucester Track Patch for XC Route (not Extended)”, thinking it might address the problem. However, when I looked at the contents of the patch, I noticed it references the route GUID:
f27620e2-7390-4904-a92a-ee1a73b48476
whereas my installed XC Route v1.2.0 has the GUID:
3a84ad90-ae0e-4a79-b416-60b6ab20bb57
Because of this difference, I wasn’t sure whether the patch applies to an older version of the route or a different release, so I haven’t installed it.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the issue, which also shows a couple of orange/white placeholder objects nearby, although I’m not sure whether they’re related or simply indicate missing scenery assets.
Could you please let me know if:
This is a known issue with v1.2.0?
The Gloucester Track Patch is intended for a different version of the route?
There is anything else you would recommend checking or trying?
I’d really appreciate any advice you can offer, as I’d love to get this section of the route working correctly.

Is this route going to be redone since a lot of the assets are from UKTS and they don’t exist anymore?
More like is this going to get converted using the unbranded SWC cause some people dont have the original.
