Traction Studios Presents: The Mid Norfolk Railway Phase 1 V1.1.0
9th September 2020Traction Studios is proud to release its first Freeware route, the Mid Norfolk Railway Phase 1.
File is currently on V1.1.0 This change fixes a blank quick drive menu that some people were experiencing. Please contact us if the issue isn’t resolved after reinstalling this.
The Mid Norfolk railway is an 11 1/2 mile heritage line based, unsurprisingly, in Norfolk, East Anglia, UK. It runs between the market towns of Wymondam and Dereham, and has now been operated for 25 years. The line is mainly home to More modern diesel and electric stock, although regularly hosts visiting steam locomotives.
The line has also benefited with strong commercial ties, being used for military wagon trains, RHTT Maintenance and more recently stock storage of the new Abellio Greater Anglia class 745 and 755 fleet prior to entering service. The line has also played hosts to many famous guests, such as the Prototype HST, Union of South Africa, Tangmere, King Edward II, Duchess Of Sutherland, Royal Scot, and in 2021, Flying Scotsman.
The first phase Covers the first 6 miles from Wymondham Abbey to Thuxton, Set between 2018 and 2020. The route comes Packaged with 3 Realistic and engaging scenarios with the route also being quick drive enabled. This line offers a wide potential for scenario creators, having hosted everything from small 0-4-0 Edwardian steam locos to modern class 68s.

Looks good BUT where is the track , I have no track layout only the green green grass of home ( as TJ once sang).
I’m guessing as of late its not possible to install this route as the Bocklands route seems to be unavailable.
I have the route locos ect, but just no track that’s the only thing missing.
This is a fantastic route. I look forward to seeing the finished product, but for now this section is very enjoyable.

What about 46115 ‘Scots Guardsman’, 45699 ‘Galatea’ and 48151 when they came the the Mid-Norfolk Railway in 2014. Aren’t they famous?
You are correct they are, But i didn’t feel it necessary to list every single famous loco that’s been to the line, as the list would be a lot longer!
