As an experienced driver of electric locos on the WCML, you have been chosen to guide Stratford drivers in the operation of class 86s. These will later in 1985 be introduced on the GEML from Liverpool Street as far as Ipswich to the new end of the wires. Today’s crew training run will run as 5T02 to Colchester Yard as the section up to Ipswich is not energised yet. You will be driving and demonstrating the use of the tap changer over neutral sections.
