Brief: Repair work to Clifton Bridge near Penrith has closed the WCML between Carlisle and Oxenholme. Avanti have decided to utilise their bi-mode Class 805 Evero fleet to divert via the Settle – Carlisle line, bringing intercity trains down this stretch of track for the first time in over a decade. Other engineering works around the network means your service today will terminate at Wigan North Western instead of continuing south.
