14th November 2019Due to a shortage of available electrics you are at the controls of 50006 on 1S17 bound for Glasgow. Having relieved your colleague, you start from Preston and will call at Lancaster, Oxenholme, Penrith and Carlisle. No issues reported this morning and the weather is forecast warm and sunny – perfect conditions for plenty of high speed 50 ‘thrash’ over the Cumbrian Hills. To install simply unzip and copy ‘Content’ folder to your Railworks directory. Links to all requirements also provided in enclosed Readme.

Just a point of detail, the scenario is set in 1974 with 50006 Neptune providing the power – however, 50006 did not get named until 1979.
Hi MoldJunction, thanks for your comment. I appreciate that 50006 wasn’t named until 1979. Slight factual error in the scenario. Players could edit the loco in the scenario if they wished. I am too young to recall the era I’ve set this scenario in as I’m 29 and as such, did a lot of research into the train movements of the time whilst creating this scenario. I love the BR blue era (even though I wasn’t alive in real life) and feel the AP 50 fills a massive gap that we had for BR blue stock. I hope people still enjoy the drive and I’ll try to make sure locos are accurately featured in future scenarios.

Finally a scenario for AP Class 50 in one of my favorite routes! It was a great drive and nice to see double headed services along the way. Could do with more AI but nonetheless a very good scenario.
Hi Damario, thanks very much for your feedback, really appreciate it. I know the AI was a little sparse at times during the drive. Quite often is on the northern sections of the WCML. I didn’t want to overpopulate it with AI incase it made it less realistic. I’ll try and have more AI services next time. I love WCML Over Shap myself, it’s a great route. I also love the BR Blue era. I was 4 in 1974 and so got to experience the grimey blue and grey before the myriad of colour we know today became the norm. Well done with your scenario.
