Piccadilly Takeover
9th April 2023Scenario for the Virtual District Line.
Drive a westbound Piccadilly line train from Gloucester Road on a cold December evening. You’ll be making additional stops on the ‘local’ line west of Hammersmith and diverting into Ealing Broadway as the District line is closed west of Earl’s Court.
could be just closed from Earls Court to Barons Court. Piccadilly line cant cross over until Hammersmith. Nice scenario. Thanks for making and sharing
no reversing point at barons court. Also the cross over has been removed IRL at hammersmith both roads between the district and piccadilly.
Nice scenario but just to pick up on your description. If the district line was closed west of Earls Court. Then the route the player train wouldnt be possible as the train is travelling along the district line 😀 😀

Glad you enjoyed it. This scenario is based on a real timetable that ran on the 27th December 2013. The District line had no service west of Earl’s Court due to major engineering works so the Piccadilly line ran via the ‘local’ lines and called at all stations between Hammersmith and Acton Town with some services running to Ealing Broadway.
I used a real timetable for this but due to simulator limitations some of the timings differ slightly from real life.
In addition to what I just wrote the crossovers between the Piccadilly and District at Hammersmith have recently been removed so crossing over can no longer happen in real life but they could still stop at all stations except Chiswick Park (and Stamford Brook eastbound) on the ‘fast’ lines if required.
Ealing Broadway is still possible but whether that happens again is anyone’s guess.
