Out of the Ordinary
6th August 2021[LMTrains] Out of the Ordinary
Route: The East Coast Mainline Merge (ATS)
Description: Tonight you are in charge of a Class 390 Pendolino out of Edinburgh Waverley, however you are not going to Euston… you are instead operating 5Z20 overnight to London Kings Cross in a special PR test run for Virgin Trains. This is based on a real life run in 2012 however updated, with 390055 in charge as prototypical.
Duration: 300 Minutes
*PLEASE NOTE* – There are a few issues with the route which results in the TASS system on the 390 incorrectly assuming you are overspeed. This is due to incorrect speed markers on the core route and not something I can fix unfortunately. This does not hinder the experience as only affects in a few sections.

*Please Note: My Scenarios are intended to be as realistic as possible, within the constraints of the Train Sim 2020 game. Unfortunately this means that sometimes the scenario will not register stops correctly and give you a ‘Scenario Incomplete’ at the end as a consequence. There is nothing I can do about this, be assured that my
scenarios are extensively tested. The aim is to create a realistic scenario for you to enjoy, not to create a
scenario you can pass easily/at all*
INSTALLATION: Drag and drop the ‘Contents’ folder into your Railworks route folder.
Fabulous scenario, must confess that I am not a lover of driving in the total darkness, so I altered the departure time in order to enjoy the Class 390 on the ECML in the daylight. I expect though that changing the timings was why I got the X at go via York. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive. Thank you.
Of course, tailor the scenario to your needs. Driving in the dark is prototypical for this scenario and the working it is based on, it’s also something train drivers have to do in real life so felt it was right to emulate that in the game. Glad you enjoyed it however!
Having worked for BR in the 1960’s, I really appreciate and agree with your comments. With it being such a long drive is why I chose to drive it in the daylight. Thank you again.
Hello, I am looking forward to trying this scenario out but before I do, simvue is down and I have been unable to download any of their liveries. I’m not exactly sure what their policies are for file sharing but would it be possible for you to either include it in the download or find an alternative for the HT 802 (for those that don’t have it although I know there will be some who do)? Thank you.
Unless there’s only a few consists which won’t affect the scenario experience a lot. Still would be nice to have the file though.
Hi there, thank you for getting in touch! With regards to Simvue, I don’t want to include any files that may be against their own EULA, regardless or not whether they are down. I would include the new ATS reskin from Chat Moss of the TPE 802, but again, this is only available with the route and as such would add to the requirements. It only affects one train (per my memory) that is static, so shouldn’t be a problem, if you don’t have it.
Alright cheers.
