[MJT] 9P47 07:16 London Euston – Blackpool North
17th August 2025It’s a lovely August weekend with perfect beach weather forecasted, where this morning you take control of 390132 working 9P47 with the 07:16 from London Euston to Blackpool North. A popular destination for families, stag/hen-dos, and leisure travellers alike – expect this to become a busy service, particularly beyond Birmingham. However, line closures through Macclesfield mean that all services have been diverted via Crewe so congestion is expected on the way up.
Setting: 2nd August 2025
Difficulty & Duration: ~ 225 mins | Medium
Traction: 390132
Route(s): WCML South (Part 1); ATS WCML Midlands and Northwest (Part 2); OTS Northern Lines Electric (Part 3)
(Part 1 requires the ATS Northampton Loop to function as intended)
INSTALLATION –
1) Extract and open the provided .zip file, where you will find a ‘Content’ folder and a supplementary ReadMe file.
2) Copy over the ‘Content’ folder into your Railworks directory folder.
3) Done. Enjoy!
NOTES (IMPORTANT) –
+ To run Part 2 of this scenario, you MUST load up the included PRELOAD free roam scenario first. Have a quick fly-around between Birmingham and Wolverhampton, allowing the game to load up a few tiles in the area, then exit and load up Part 2. If this still doesn’t work consider lowering your settings.
+ Similarly, I’ve had to split Part 1 into 1a and 1b, with a pause at Rugby. This was due to the high number of trains in this scenario, where the WCML South route crashes beyond a certain threshold.
+ You will need to tab the following signals in this scenario, which I have also reminded you of in-game. Obey all other signals.
SC5587 Stafford P5 (Part 2); PN127 Preston P3 (Part 3)

KNOWN ISSUE –
+ 1H63 London Euston – Manchester Piccadilly appears to arrive and depart Crewe Platform 5 with its left-hand doors open. There is nothing I’ve been able to do about this and is something that you (the user) will somewhat need to ignore.

Is the tilt supposed to be disabled in part 2?
Yes mate
cracking scenario mate
What in particular are you supposed to be able to drive on the pre-load for Part 2? I ask as for me whilst it loads, it just loads as if I am in a field with no tracks or stock to drive.
I have reinstalled the route to no avail. Any ideas on this as to what else to try please? I have even tried loading other scenarios on this route as well and for some reason they just bomb out. I am yet to try lowering settings as yet so will try that next if there are no other options.
Nothing’s there to drive in pre-load, all you do is simply hover around (“like a bird” so-to-speak) around the busy and scenery-dense areas to load up the tiles.
The reason you just see fields is because the scenario marker itself is located in the area approximately 1 mile north of New St Station (roughly where Corporation Street is on a map), meaning that’s the place where you spawn in and hence you see no scenery and just a field. However, if you move upwards to the sky and look down you will eventually see all the buildings and tracks heading to Wolverhampton which you need to follow to get the tiles to load and ensure Part 2 works. Hope this helps.
Cheers. That makes sense. I will give it a try and see how I get on.
Another fantastic set of scenarios for 9P47. Very much enjoyed each part from start to finish. The free roam for Part 2 I recommend to all myself as it runs that part a lot better with performance. I would like to see the return trip 9A53 back to Euston if possible.
Thank you for the kind words Felix!
As for the return trip, could be a possibility at some point in the future, although I’ve got a few other projects in the pipeline already, but we shall see…
Fabulous scenario, and with help to ensure everything loads too.
Couldn’t ask for more!
