[MJT] 1S27 17:30 London Kings Cross – Edinburgh (Full Journey)
7th August 2024 8 By mattyjt02This evening you form the 17:30 LNER Azuma service (1-Sierra-27) from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh, in a 4-part scenario on a lovely mid-July evening at the start of the summer holidays across the UK. You join this service amidst the evening rush hour, where several southbound trains have been canceled this afternoon. As such, you lead a busy service so ensure that you stick tight to the schedule.
Setting: July 2024
Total Duration: 4 Hours 30 Minutes (270 mins)
Track Covered: London Kings Cross – Edinburgh Waverley via ECML
Traction: 801215
Important Things to know:
– SPAD-ing Signals –
You only need to do this once throughout the entire journey. This occurs at Hambleton South Junction between Doncaster and York in Part 2, where you wait for 4E04 to join the ECML. Once the line clears, the signal won’t always turn green. You are notified about this as you pass Temple Hurst Junction, north of Doncaster.
– Class 69 Replacement –
I’ve used the default Kuju Class 47 for a Doncaster-Millerhill Class 69 working in Part 3, renumbered accordingly. If you’d prefer to replace it with the AP Class 56 (which the 69 is based on IRL), you can do so using TSTools. Instructions are provided in the readme.
HOW TO INSTALL:
1. Download and extract the provided .zip file, where you will find 4 separate folders corresponding to each part of the scenario (Parts 1, 2, 3, 4)
2. Within these separate folders, navigate to the individual ‘Content’ folders. Drag each ‘Content’ folder 1-by-1 into your Railworks directory. The scenario should now be installed!
Enjoy!

About the author
Hi! I'm Matt, and I like to create realistic WTT scenarios for TSC in my spare time. I publish a plethora of multi-part FULL RUN WTT journeys which many of you seem to enjoy, as well as do the odd freight working or Railtour. Thank you for checking out my content and enjoy!

A fantastic multi-parter again! Didn’t expect the old JT route to look so good at night!
Thank you, a very enjoyable 4 part scenario. In part 1 was about 5 miles from Pboro, and got a game over due to an Al collision between 1Q19 and 1E19. I deleted 1E19 and then was able to complete.
Cheers Benelena, as always 🙂
In regards to the collision though, that’s odd as I never had it in the final version I uploaded. I had the same collision initially during testing a couple of times, then seemed to fix it and had it working with no problems. Now people are having the same issue. Don’t know why that’s the case but I do apologise
Thanks Matt, After the collision I thought I would delete one of the consists, I did 1E19, ran the scenario again, with no problems. Thoroughly enjoyable 4 parts.
Just popping on to say I also had the same collision unfortunately. Apart from that, great 4 part scenario.
Hi Mattyjt02, absolutely love your work and am grateful for the time and effort you put in to these scenarios but was wondering why this is over 4 separate scenarios instead of 1 or 2 on the ECML Merge route instead? It would definitely be easier to complete and at least the scenario would be in the same time period over the different routes? Thank you
Cheers Ade, thank you so much 🙂
But yeah great question. You’re right, I 100% agree it’d be way easier to do this on the ECML merge above-all-else. However, simply put, it likely wouldn’t be very feasible on my side of things as I play on a rather outdated gaming laptop (~2014 era) and can often struggle on high density areas and large maps (ie. the ECML merge). Loading a heavy scenario on the ATS KGX-KL and KGX-York-Leeds themselves can sometimes take >10 mins for me, and my laptop would probably blow up doing the same thing on the big ECML merge lmao.
Upgrade to a new gaming PC is long overdue for sure though 👍🙌
Understood makes sense now, thank you for replying and for your scenarios. I am really looking forward to completing this one!
