OVERVIEW: Damage to the overhead wires just outside Manchester Piccadilly has caused major disruption on the West Coast Main Line. With just limited paths available, dozens of direct services have been cancelled or are terminating at Stockport, with only a handful from CrossCountry being allowed through. As the Friday evening rush hour looms, you join one such service at Birmingham, overseeing the next leg of 1M50 from Bournemouth to Manchester Piccadilly via Stoke-on-Trent, going as far as Kidsgrove.
