The Class 377 ‘Electrostar’ electric multiple units were built from 2002 by Bombardier at Derby, England. They are the most numerous EMUs constructed in post-privatisation Britain, with units delivered in several batches over the years. The final Class 377 sets were completed in 2014.

The Class 377 units operate throughout the Southern network, covering commuter routes in South London and mainline services across the South East of England. A number of units have been transferred to South Eastern in recent years.

The Class 377 units operate on 750v DC third-rail. However, sub-classes 377/2, 377/5 and 377/7 are dual-voltage and can also operate under 25kV AC overhead lines using a pantograph.
