[KH] 1E03 0534 Stirling to London Kings Cross FULL RUN
20th September 2024Route
Part 1: Network ScotEast
Part 2: Just Trains Edinburgh – Newcastle
Part 3: DP Simulations ECML North East
Part 4: ATS London King’s Cross to Leeds/York Merge
Description
Having driven 3E03, available HERE, you now drive the first service of the day out of Stirling, 1E03 0534 to London King’s Cross. I have been very careful to keep continuity going, with stock positions and unit allocations etc. Across four parts this is a full ECML run covering all 354 miles of track. The service calls at Falkirk Grahamston, Haymarket, Edinburgh Waverley, Newcastle, Darlington, York and London King’s Cross. This run has fully automated on train announcements throughout!
Special Thanks
To Chris Horsfield, for putting together and implementing the announcements into the scenarios for me, without him these scenarios would not have any annoucnements! Also thanks to Chris for fully testing all parts and assisting with livery errors and such. Legend!
Requirements for all parts
Please note that I have condensed this list of requirements as there are so many. For example if a reskin requires an AP pack, I haven’t listed the AP pack as a requirement as it’s needed for another requirement anyway. To find what you need for a specific part you simply ensure you have everything under ‘All Parts’ and everything under the specific part required, for example if you just wanted Part 4, you need All Parts + Additionally for Part 4.

Known Issues
– In Part 1 the CR4000 tram is very loud in exterior view, I know this, but I’d rather have a tram than no tram and couldn’t find another suitable alternative. It’s pretty quiet in cab.
– In Part 2 I am aware of an issue potentially affecting two signals in the area of Heaton Depot. I have used JT Force Green Markers, they didn’t work for me, but worked for Chris when he tested the scenario so hopefully you will have greens there. Even so, there is some weird issue where you get route indication 1 when you are continuing on the Main, this is a route bug in the JT route. If you do recieve a two random red signals approaching and adjacent Heaton Depot, please TAB those signals. I am hoping the markers have worked correctly for you.
– In Part 3 I was stuck between a rock and hard place when it comes to Class 195’s as theya re not available, my logic was to use what they replaced, so Class 142 pacers have been substituted in where there should be a Class 195. I am committed to changing this and re-uploading should a Class 195 become available. – In Part 4 I was again stuck when it came to Class 331’s. I chose again to use what they replaced so Class 321’s have been used. I have used a fictional livery that 321’s never wore but the 331’s do, so seemed fitting.
– In Part 4 I ran into major instablity issues due to the simulators limitations. I essentially ran out of AI that I could use without it crashing on load up. Because of this, regrettably, there has been a breach in continuity at York, as I had to remove all non-essential trains from there. I broke it multiple times finding the limit but wanted to prioritize anything that should move and static at Kings Cross. Please forgive areas that are empty, e.g. Doncaster yards, Peterborough Yard, Hornsey/Bounds Green; I simply reached an absolute limit in what the sim can do, as it’s a long run in the peak. It still is a really good run with plenty to look at!
As always if you think there is any other issue, drop a comment, otherwise, please enjoy! 🙂
Made it to the end. Good long run that required concentration. Thanks very much for putting it together.
Thanks for driving ☺️
Up to Part 2 so far. Had some problems with the AI for that one. Only had 1 Azuma coming in the other direction, then not a lot for a while. 2 trains stuck at reds south of Belford, then the next train was a TPE 802 just northing of Acklington, then a Voyage after that.
That sounds correct mate. Not a lot of traffic toward Edinburgh that time of the morning. The 156 was at a stand at Belford awaiting your passage as it was in reality on the simulated day, it was running late and 1E03 was regulated. This would have backed up the freight train behind but is intended. Hope this helps thanks for downloading! 🙂
Thanks for explaining.
No problem mate, sorry that the 156 ends up with it’s tail lights showing, does make it appear stuck but it’s just the scripting 🙂
Looks like the one im missing is fife circle lol. sorry
Glad you were able to figure out the issue, well worth getting to have the NSE route work, it’s a fantastic route 🙂
Hi my issue is with part 1. i didnt have platforms at stirling so i purchased Glasgow Dunblane Alloa route which fixed that. But now I have nothing at Haymarket and Nothing at Edinburgh. I do have Chris Horsfields network scot east. what route could i be missing ???
Thanks in advance
I see above you figured out the issue, thanks for dropping a line though, happy to help where I can 🙂
Absolutely brilliant, cant wait for the return, Thank you
Glad you enjoyed 🙂
Great work Kieran, really enjoyed this set of scenarios, and the announcements really add to the immersion too. Would it be pushing my luck to ask for a return journey 🤔 😀?!
I have it from a reliable source that you won’t be waiting long for a return 😀
As the light run to Stirling, all 4 parts ran perfectly for me, and I enjoyed every minute. Thank you. Great to have the announcements too.
Thank you again :D, Chris did great work with the announcements 🙂
A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend my day off! Pleased that you used the JT version between EDI and NCL so avoiding the stupid 15mph restrictions on the janky merge. Unfortunately, I had to skip part 3 as it kept bombing to desktop on loading, but that’s a problem I always tend to run into on the DPS-RLS ECMLNE route.
Many thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it Matt! It does seem like that is an issue in part 3 with the route install or a requirement for it, as Part 3 is probably one of the least intensive of them all in terms of AI. Thanks for driving 🙂
I’ve installed / reinstalled that route countless times, checked all the prerequisites (and reinstalled them as well just for the hell of it), yet very few scenarios behave as they should. Same happens on the Harrogate Loop line as well. It shouldn’t be my setup, as it vastly exceeds the recommended sys requirements.
It’s a pain, but something I’ve just learned to live with – TSC is a real pain sometimes, but I do enjoy driving virtual trains when I’m not driving actual trains – there must be something wrong with me 🙂
TSC can be like that, very odd, shame you can’t get a drive on Part 3 as a result 🙁
You’re not alone mate, I too drive all day then come home and drive some more! haha
Mine hung just after Skelton Junction with just under a mile to go to York, which was a bugger. As I was on target to get there on time, I’ve given myself a cheeky pass.
Ah that’s a shame, a few people have issues with that particular route 🙁
