Briefing
After the announcement that London Overgrounds fleet of 710s were further delayed and with the lease of the class 172s coming to an end, LO were left with few options to run the GOBLIN services. It was ultimately decided that 3 of their 378s would be reformed into 4 cars and run the services until the introduction of the 710s. Following its return to New Cross Gate C.S.D. after being reformed, test on the modifications made were carried out over 3 consecutive days. On the first day of the tests you are booked to work 5Q87 from New Cross Gate C.S.D. to Redhill with 378232. We are booked to follow another London Overground service as far as Norwood Junction, but after East Croydon and with an amended timetable in place due to engineering work between Clapham Junction and London Victoria we should be able to get up to speed!
