[JD] 1J70 1728 Holyhead to Shrewsbury
9th January 2026Drive a TfW on a stopping service from Holyhead to Chester. You will be stopping at all stations as far as Llandudno Junction and then run nonstop to Chester. A number of the stations between Holyhead and Llandudno Junction are request stops.
For this scenario I have tried something a bit different. For each of the request stops I have set them as Go Via points and then you don’t have to stop at them. As you approach each of the request stops you will be given a pop-up message informing you if you stop or not. Because these pop ups are very much at the last minute (like a passenger sticking their hand out) approach each of the request stops expecting that you will need to stop at each station. The scenario has been scripted in such a way that in theory you will have different stations to stop at each time you drive. Any feedback regarding this system will be much appreciated as I don’t know how others would like it.

Hi, very enjoyable scenario – the request stops certainly kept me alert. Out of interest how do passengers wanting to alight at a request stop alert the driver? Is it like a bus where there is a bell or a buzzer?
If its similar to how Northern do it, passengers are requested to speak to the conductor to arrange the stop. On approach to the request stop the driver will sound the horn and if nobody is wishing to board, the driver will give 2 on the buzzer to the conductor. If nobody is alighting then the conductor will give 2 on the buzzer back and the train will continue without stopping. If someone is wishing to alight then when the driver gives 2 on the buzzer the conductor will NOT give 2 on the buzzer and the train stops at the request stop.
Hope that helps!
Thank you for sharing that info Robbo13, much appreciated!
