IC225 Awareness Special (1993) – 1T07 14:10 Euston – Liverpool Lime St [Part 3]
23rd August 2024In the early 1990s, Network SouthEast and InterCity were both in need of new stock. The former needing new EMUs and the latter requesting 25 new IC225 sets for the WCML. With these sectors of BR competing for government money, InterCity put on special runs in the summer of 1993. These four specials ran to west coast destinations with IC225s to demonstrate the trains’ potential to shareholders and press. One of these workings ran on Thursday 1st of July with selected guests on board from London Euston at 14.10 to Liverpool Lime Street as 1T07. In this 3-part scenario, you will drive this special service in its entirety.
One 65-minute scenario for ATS’s WCML Midlands & North West ´Missing Link’ v4 route. Weather: Fair cloud/Showers. Feedback is much appreciated. Hope you enjoy! 😊

An excellent set of scenarios. One random question though and this for me only applies to part 3 when there is rain. When in the cab of the 91, the newer set of wipers are visible on the loco as changed when they were refurbished in the mallard refurbishment project. However, when viewing the loco from the outside the original as built set of wipers are visible and you can see these working when the wipers are switched on when it starts raining north of Stafford from the outside only. This gives a weird view when in the cab of the 91 of the newer wipers on the windscreen not moving but the rain still clearing with the old wipers that you can’t see from the inside. Hopefully that makes some sort of sense. By no means a criticism though. Just an observation.
as mentioned elsewhere, right at the start of scenario, pass signal at single yellow, cant stop in time for red signal, then train derails at junction, tried it 3 times, same result.
And a brilliant final leg too. Thanks for this serie!
I can’t figure out what the reason is! When the scenario starts, the train passes the station on the move and derails at the first switch.
Never experienced this during testing unfortunately. I would advise turning off the rolling start in the scenario editor and running it again. Hope that works.
Thank you. A fabulous 3 part scenario. Unfortunately in part 3, on arrival at Liverpool LS, I could not get the doors to open. Tried in different parts of the platform too.
When testing, it seemed like it would only open the doors if you drive right up to the buffers at lime street
Thank you, will drive the scenario again, and follow your advice.
Following your advice I ran the scenario again, this time driving right up to the buffers at LLS. All went well. Thank you.
