In the early 1990s, Network SouthEast and InterCity were both in need of new stock. The former needing new EMUs and the latter requesting 25 new IC225 sets for the WCML. With these sectors of BR competing for government money, InterCity put on special runs in the summer of 1993. These four specials ran to west coast destinations with IC225s to demonstrate the trains’ potential to shareholders and press. One of these workings ran on Thursday the 1st of July with selected guests on board from London Euston at 14.10 to Liverpool Lime Street as 1T07. In this 3-part scenario, you will drive this special service in its entirety.
