Introduction

Hi all, welcome to my first standard scenario for Train Simulator Classic! I have put many hours into testing this scenario to make sure it functions correctly and to a realistic standard compared to real life. More details of this scenario can be found further down. It’s thanks to Realtime Trains extended history that I have been able to put this scenario together. And the allocations for the date this scenario is set have been sourced from various sites such as Flickr, Taunton Trains and hstgen.co.uk. Another feature is accurate coach sets and numbers for all of the HST services in this scenario, including the player Train. If you encounter any issues with this scenario then do not hesitate to leave a comment below and I will get back to you. I hope you enjoy playing this scenario!

Description

On a late Spring morning, take the helm of 43056 and 43086 on a 2+4 HST set from Penzance to Newton Abbot. Calling at St Erth, Hayle, Camborne, Redruth, Truro, St Austell, Par, Lostwithiel, Bodmin Parkway, Liskeard, Menheniot (request stop), St Germans, Saltash, Plymouth, Ivybridge and Totnes along the way. Date: Wednesday 10th April 2019.

Notes

One thing to make note of is that in this scenario I have edited the leading Powercar (43056) to have a Brush cooler group instead of the normal Voith cooler group. This is to ensure that 43056 has the upgraded Brush spec electronics as per real life, also one of only two GWR Powercars to receive them (alongside 43053). The Guards buzzer will also be the one that is heard in the XC/LNER etc HST’s.

This scenario has been tested with the AP Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack, the AP Cloud Enhancement Pack and the Realistic Time Of Day plugin installed. All of these are not essential for the scenario to function, but they are recommended for the most realistic weather, sky and lighting conditions for the scenarios time and season. Without these, the clouds, the sky and the lighting may appear inconsistent or unrealistic for the specific date set in the scenario.

This scenario has also been tested with various improvement patches, mostly for the Class 800-803 and 220/221 ai services. Again these are not essential for the scenario to function, but recommended for the most realistic sounds and looks compared to real life. Without these, there may be some inconsistencies compared to real life.
