Year: 2004 Traction: Class 47 47818 & DIT Class 86 86215 Route: West Anglia Mainline V1 Section Covered: Stansted Mountfitchet Junction to Cheshunt (This scenario finished with a rolling end)

Briefing:

Afternoon Driver! Due to the blockage of Ipswich Tunnel on the Great Eastern Mainline for 8 weeks, some intercity services are being diverted via Thetford, Ely, Cambridge and the West Anglia Mainline to London on a non-stop run with an 86 or a 90 dead in tow. The electric loco is dead due to potential tripping to the OHLE along the Fen Lines and West Anglia Mainline, this isn’t the case for the weekend runs as there is less traffic on both electrified lines. Plus they need to be dragged from Norwich to Ely as there isn’t any OHLE.

Today you are taking oddly liveried ONE Class 47 47818 along the West Anglia Mainline fitting in-between the busy Stansted Express and stopping services. The consist is fairly heavy due to being busy with commuters and enthusiasts that want some 47 haulage along unusual lines. You shouldn’t meet any adverse signals along the way so enjoy!
