[CH] The Waverley (60103)
14th August 2026 3 By ChuntleyThis is a scenario for the excellent MaxTracks Leeds North West route.
Most Sundays throughout the summer season, WCRC operate their famous “Waverley” railtour from York to Carlisle and return, steam hauled throughout. On this occasion, none other than 60103 “Flying Scotsman” has been booked to work the Waverley, making this a particularly special outing for enthusiasts and passengers alike.
Your duty begins at Leeds, where you will take charge of the train and work it as far as Skipton, where another crew will take over for the remainder of the journey. With this loco in particular attracting huge numbers of passengers and enthusiasts, platforms are likely to be incredibly busy, so take extra care when arriving and departing stations. Keep to the booked timings and be prepared for plenty of activity along the route as you make your way towards Skipton.

About the author
All my scenarios follow actual WTTs, these span span the 1980s to modern day – from Class 1 expresses to heavy freights, with plenty of chasing yellows. I play with trains for a living, and when I’m not on the real railway, I’m usually playing with ones that are 76 times smaller and made from plastic. I’m also quite keen on repainting and weathering these. Besides playing trains I also play a certain six stringed instrument.

Great scenario, no issues to report. Had a fantastic time playing it. I hope to see more steam scenarios from you in the future
You are very welcome. Got a few up my sleeve that I’m sure I can release. Keep your eyes peeled 😉
