[CH] The Nosey Peaker – 14th June 2018
3rd June 2025This is a scenario for Just Trains’ Midland Mainline, Buxton and Peak Forest Extensions.
On the 14th June 2018, the Branch Line Society ran a special railtour to raise funds for the Railway Children charity, utilising the stock of the Three Peaks Challenge, made up mostly of Mk2 aircons and double-headed by heritage Class 37s – 37424 “Avro Vulcan XH558” and 37407, with ‘401 dead on the rear.
Named “The Nosey Peaker”, the tour initially started from Stafford running via Crewe to Stockport and Manchester and looping north of Manchester coming back into Stockport via Denton. From there the tour ran to Buxton and then headed East onto the Peak Forest route, eventually joining the Hope Valley back at Chinley where the tour then headed back south to Crewe.
In this leg you will take 37424 and 37407 from Stockport via Buxton and the Peak Forest back to Hazel Grove goods loops.
A reskin/bin file has been included in this download to add Major Wales Design’s “Railway Children” headboard to 37424.
Due to being relatively resource intensive, two of the exact same scenarios are included in this download – one contains the suffix “LITE” and features considerably less stock at Peak Forest to aid weaker machines.

Cracking scenario, propelling off the viaduct was a scary prospect!
Took until Middlewood to realise the loco brake had been left on for me, did think the physics seemed a bit odd…oops!
Glad you enjoyed, I’d set the start as a “Rolling Start” with the cab already set up – only held the train on the loco brake. Though I’m sure your locos made a nice sound with the increased drag… thanks for the comment
Very nice scenario, Thank you.
